| Title: | The Influence of Family andCommunity Ties on the Demand for Reverse Mortgages - http://www.ilcusa.org/_lib/pdf/20020215.pdf |
| Pagerank: | 3 |
| Description: | This study explores whether consumer interest in reverse mortgages is influenced by the strength of areas family and community ties. The degree of out-migration by young and old residents is the primary measure used to estimate the strength of these ties. Twenty-six geographically dispersed metropolitan areas in the United States, comprising 135 counties, were selected for analysis. Other types of reverse mortgages are briefly described, but the FHA-insured Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) is given a more detailed treatment and is used to address the research question. |
